Today I decided to go visit the buildings of the Big 3 entertainment companies. :D Actually I wanted to go Everland but my cousin and I woke up late so we decided to shift our itinerary a bit.
JYP ENTERTAINMENT
First stop of the day: Cheongdam Station is where to go to get to both JYP and SME buildings.
Sorry, couldn't resist. XD
This is the view you see when you get out of the correct exit from Cheongdam Station. It's a very upclass neighbourhood. There aren't any shopping streets around here, it's mostly all these really artsy cafes and stores. It's what Singaporeans and Malaysians would call very atas. XD
I almost got lost at this junction, but you have to cross it and carry on walking.
Finally turning into the street that the JYP building is located. I was worried I was walking the wrong way but my cousin has a better sense of direction than me. It's rather deep in, so you wouldn't see it on first sight.
FINALLY!!! I almost missed it, tbh. I was just wondering aloud, "Where on earth is it?" And then I finally saw it. It's rather easy to miss, because the building is rather narrow. If there wasn't the huge JYP words, I'd have an even harder time spotting it.
What is opposite the JYP building. i.e. what JYP artistes would look at everytime they look out their windows. I went into the Dunkin' Donuts because it was too frikkin cold and because I wanted a cup of hot chocolate. Spotted quite a lot of goodies there, actually.
Surprisingly, I actually got there the same day as the JYP auditions! See the hoards of hopeful fangirls. I thought there was someone due to arrive actually, but I guess I was wrong. It's just an audition. Maybe there'll be a future celebrity amongst these fangirls.
The building is plastered with JYP artistes' posters.
Dunkin' Donuts was playing a Wonder Girls song. G.N.O., I think, or maybe one of the ballads. When I was inside Dunkin' Donuts and chilling out with my cup of hot chocolate, there were a lot of curious onlookers inside, all staring at the JYP building. Some of them were teenage girls, but some of them were middle-aged folks, maybe the parents? But anyway, I was sneaking a peek at one of the fangirls next to me, and I thought she had a Junho wallpaper on her phone.
This was spotted in the Dunkin' Donuts opposite the JYP buildings. Personally autographed by 2PM! (Edit: Now that I look at it, it's probably not personally autographed, it's probably written and given by fans XD)
On the wall of Dunkin' Donuts.
A pillar in Dunkin' Donuts filled with autographs of many celebrities, most of them from JYP (obviously).
Chansung's autograph.
Min's autograph.
Jia and Suzy's autographs.
Jun.K's autograph. :D
Joo's autograph.
f(x)'s autograph (I dunno why they're here though)
Wooyoung's autograph!! :D (I'm sure the stickers were pasted by the shop employees.
And Papa JYP himself.
Rain's autograph. I'm surprised he actually incorporated the Chinese character for 'rain' into this signature. It's very nice.
The front of the JYP building.
Close-up of the 2PM posters on the JYP building.
The convenience store right opposite the JYP building and where I'm sure the boys must've gone in before to buy drinks and stuff when they were trainees. When I entered the convenience store, it was playing Be My Baby or some other track from Wonder Girls. I began to wonder whether JYP owns the whole street that his building is on. XD
Inside the convenience store. Personally autographed posters from 2PM and Miss A.
Random but personally autographed posters of 4minute and… I can't make out who the band is at the bottom.
Another personally autographed poster of 2PM. :D I bought a Coke bottle at this convenience store, and drank it, but I still kept the bottle until now. :D Lol, I don't know why.
This is a different convenience store from the one shown above, which I saw just a short distance away from the JYP building. These TV screens are not just playing teasers and music videos, but they're also blasting music into the street so I kept hearing Be My Baby and so on. Which really made me wonder if JYP owned the whole street.
A really really cute labrador retriever that I saw outside a cafe just opposite the JYP building. Its name is Haru, isn't it the cutest!? I was snapping so many photos of it playing fetch or something with the woman. Maybe 2PM's seen it before too. :D Knowing their love for animals.
SM ENTERTAINMENT
Leaving JYP building, we walked down a few streets and shortly came across the SM Entertainment building.
Lined with posters for their Global Auditions.
SM Town lololol. Very festive. But the building seemed rather quiet and deserted. Maybe because everyone's overseas.
The meter box or whatever it is outside SM Entertainment is heavily vandalized by SM Towners. There're messages from ELF Japan, and to Eunhyuk Oppa, Yunjae Oppa, Keep Your Head Down, etc. etc. It was really funny to read. I snapped quite a few pics of some of the messages.
Very very heavily vandalized.
YG ENTERTAINMENT
Now we make our way to Hapjeong Station which is where the YG building is located.
What you see when you get out of the station. It's a very quiet neighbourhood, not quite as upclass as Cheongdam but has a very tranquil, peaceful feeling about it.
And right behind that residental apartment is my first look at the YG Entertainment building.
It's a pretty cool piece of architecture, isn't it?
Gasp! Who is this lady walking into the YG building?! And the vans probably belong to… 2NE1 and Big Bang? XD
What was playing outside the convenience store opposite the YG building.
EWHA WOMEN'S UNIVERSITY
And after that, we make our way to the famous Ewha Women's University. There's a subway station for their major universities, because outside the university are streets of shops and food places that is a congregation point for tourists and students.
Lol, this shop sells Apple products, I don't know why it's called willy's. XD
The main school gate of Edae itself. The campus looks beautiful!? T__T
And spazzing over every Evisu shop I see.
Lolololol what is that expression, Wooyoung.
Lolololololol.
A congregation of my favourite shops on the same street. I love this place already.
G-Dragon endorsing Bean Pole in the subway station.
And now we reach the famous Hongdae, or Hongik University. Nothing much to see though, it's just a lot of food places and all.
The subway gantries have the Lotte Duty Free stars pasted on it, so they slide away to let you go through when you tap your card. I snapped GD and Top, but I couldn't find 2PM.
A Lotte Duty Free advertisement spotted in the subway station!!
The Evisu jacket that I bought from the Evisu shop at Edae. I love it to bits, it's already one of my favourite jackets (bias aside).
Spotted Top on TV because they were playing 71: Into The Fire.
NEPA DAEBAKKK. XDD I finally watched 2PM on TV!! When it started playing, I was like, "WHERE THE FUCK IS MY CAMERA?!?!"
And now seeing Big Bang on TV for North Face! My night is complete!!!
